Our Clients Share Their Experiences with Steen Construction: Carl and Rhonda Holmquist This was our first experience building a house and we were very apprehensive. Friends and relatives warned us about how difficult it would be. We were pleasantly surprised. Building our home with Steen Construction was an enjoyable experience. We had a great working relationship with Jason Steen and his architect, and the project was completed on time and within budget. During the building process, Jason added many extra details that gave our home its custom look. We have lived in our new home for seven months and we absolutely love it! Nelson and Kaye Schaller Thank you for being such great builders to work with. When we decided to build, we had never been through the process before. Steen Construction was so helpful and easily adapted our ideas. Jason was instrumental in giving us guidance from his vast experience, and gave us many pointers that saved us a lot of costly mistakes. Little things that often go unnoticed by newbies to building like us, were picked up on by Jason, and with gentle council from him, were incorporated into our house. There is not one thing we would change from the way the house was finished, and each night when my wife and I crawl into bed, we say to each other "we love this house, we love this room". During the construction phase, the workers cleaned up after themselves, and kept a neat site at all times. Jason gave us realistic allowances for furnishings and fixtures, and always advised us if something was over budget, and what it was going to cost us. The project was finished on time and on budget. If Jason gave us a time when something would be done, it was done. The whole process went very smoothly. Friends of ours can't believe how well our house went, and how much fun we had putting it all together. We're glad we called Steen Construction. Eileen and
Fred Fetzer The following is our testimonial of our building experience with Steen Construction. When we looked at moving to Eau Claire in 2002, we pondered whether to buy an existing home versus building a new one. Our realtor, Dan Breske, helped us locate a lot that met our needs, but we didn’t know any builders in the area. Dan assisted us by recommending Jason Steen. From my initial telephone conversation I could tell Jason had the right attitude for our project. We already had basic house plans, but wanted to make a few revisions. Jason introduced us to an excellent architect who was willing to help. The four of us met and were able to refine the plans to our liking. It was great to have Jason involved during this process as he was very patient and provided good input while we worked out the details. Mother Nature was uncooperative that spring, so building began a little behind schedule. Once started, Jason was excellent at keeping us informed of the progress and time expectations. As one might expect we encouraged a few minor glitches along the way, but Jason and his crew were always committed to making things right. His crew worked hard, did a great job and were friendly to talk to. We were also impressed with the subcontractors that he selected for our project. From past experiences we know that they are an important part of how things progress and in his case Jason did a fine job of coordinating their work. We are quite pleased with the final outcome. More importantly, Jason has always been willing to follow up on issues long after we moved in. His attention to detail is impressive and we applaud his commitment to stand behind his work. He has always been easily approachable, pleasant and understanding. This gentle giant is truly dedicated to doing the job right and satisfying the customer. It is our pleasure to heartily endorse Steen Construction for your building needs. Michael
& Patti Ringhand Jason Steen and Steen Construction of Osseo, Wisconsin built our house, finishing about a year ago. The entire process went very smoothly. My wife and I had spoken with Jason at the Parade of Homes; we really liked the look of the houses he had done and his design ideas. Jason is well organized - his personality makes it very easy to work with him. We built on a steep, sandy hill. During the summer part of our driveway washed out with a lot of sand ending up in our neighbor's front yard. I told our neighbor that I'd make it right and Jason, despite the fact that it was the middle of summer, and his busiest time, was out there helping me. We dug up all the sand and put down black dirt, fertilizer and grass seed. Within a couple of weeks you couldn't tell the repaired part from the rest of the lawn. Now, to me, this was above and beyond what he, as a general contractor, had to do, but it demonstrates his work ethic. Each of his subcontractors plugged in right on time and every night after they were done working they cleaned up the site. It's a small thing but again it shows a lot of respect and attention to detail. Now that we've been settled for about a year, Jason's been out to look things over and make sure everything's how it's supposed to be. It's just how he does things, and that's made all the difference to us. |
